Choose what to save

You can use the demo without saving a case. When you sign in and choose “Save this case to my account”, we store your reviewed conversation text, context choices, analysis, edited draft and debrief in Neon in the United States. Live analysis also requires your confirmation of AI processing. You can reopen or delete a case from the same account.

We redact obvious email addresses, phone numbers, links and social handles before text analysis and server storage. This does not catch every identifying detail. Remove names, locations and anything you do not want processed or stored before continuing.

Accounts and access

Clerk handles registration, email verification, sessions and account management. Date Unfold associates saved cases and access records with your Clerk user ID. Cases are private to that account. Signing in does not automatically upload the conversation you are editing.

AI processing and screenshots

After you confirm AI processing, reviewed conversation text goes through OpenRouter to a language-model provider for analysis. Screenshot recognition has a separate confirmation: the original selected images are sent to OpenRouter and a vision-model provider before text can be redacted. Crop out names, faces and notifications first. Date Unfold does not save raw screenshots or the unconfirmed OCR output. Review the extracted words and speaker labels before adding them to a conversation.

Requests require OpenRouter routes marked for zero data retention and no data collection. If no eligible route is available, the request fails. OpenRouter and model providers still have their own policies for technical metadata, security and in-memory caching. AI can make mistakes; checking cited text does not prove an interpretation or predict another person's feelings. Guest demos and local safety checks are labelled separately.

The free beta currently allows three analyses and three screenshot reads per account per UTC day, subject to the project's available AI budget. Payments and automatic reminders are not enabled. Date Unfold never sends a dating message for you.

Deleting your data

Delete individual cases from the open case, or use Account → Delete account and saved data to remove your saved content and sign-in account. Deleting through Clerk’s account controls also triggers cleanup. We retain a minimal deleted-account identifier to prevent old sessions from restoring deleted content. Usage records are detached from your account and their input fingerprints and provider identifiers are erased; anonymous cost totals remain for budget accounting. Provider backup retention follows their policies.

Service providers

Vercel hosts the app, Clerk provides authentication, Neon stores saved cases, and OpenRouter routes AI requests to model providers. The configured models are Anthropic Claude Sonnet 5 for analysis and Google Gemini 3.8 Flash for OCR, using eligible hosting providers selected by OpenRouter. Requests and responses may be processed outside your location. We keep request IDs, model and provider names, token counts, costs and input fingerprints for retries, usage limits and support. Our application does not log conversation bodies, screenshots or drafts.
